Punk Maternity Clothes

Are you a rocker at heart? If your pre-pregnancy wardrobe consisted of lots of black and punk style apparel you may be disappointed at the minimal selection of punk maternity clothes in stores. Of course, that doesn't mean they don't exist. You just have to look in the right places. The first thing you may want to do is go through your closet and see what you can wear at least until your belly gets a lot larger. During the first and often second trimesters you can get away with wearing stretchy leggings and oversize T-shirts.


A great punk ensemble for an expectant mom would be a pair of black leggings, your favorite rock T-shirt and of course lots of chunky black and silver jewelry. Finish the look with lots of black eyeliner and a dramatic stripe of bright blush. Lips can be painted red or adorned with nude gloss. Although pregnant women are often advised not to dye their hair during pregnancy there are some safe hair coloring products that you can use. Ask your local salon or check at a beauty supply store. Many women into the punk scene like black hair streaked with rainbow hues like red, pink, blue or even platinum blonde.

There are a few stores that do carry punk clothes for expectant moms. You may want to check Little Pink Line and Punk Baby Clothes which are two online boutiques that sell hip and trendy punk style clothes for expectant moms and their babies. After all, you might want to pick up some cute goth or punk wear for your new arrival. One mom who is a pro at this is Angelina Jolie. She has been photographed in the press multiple times wearing lots of black while pregnant and even toting her daughters dressed in black dresses and her sons in vintage rock T-shirts. You may want to borrow some of her glam goth style for your own pregnancy.

While there isn't a huge variety of punk maternity clothes out there, you can find some items. By searching online and wearing larger versions of stretchy punk non-maternity clothes you can put together a great wardrobe. One thing that can make even the most basic black outfit look fabulous is jewelry. There are leather arm cuffs adorned with studs, chunky silver necklaces and all kinds of body and facial piercing jewelry items that can make you look fierce. Punk moms don't have as many choices in fashion as other moms do but with a little creativity you can rock your style for nine months and beyond!
