Hip Maternity Clothes
If you love fashion and have recently discovered that you are expecting, you may feel a little discouraged at the thought of maternity clothes. One of the biggest misconceptions about pregnancy wear is that it is unfashionable. While some of it is, there are lots of hip maternity clothes that are just as stylish as regular clothes. The trick is knowing where to shop and how to put an outfit together. The first thing you may want to do is go through your closet and figure out which pieces can be worn during the first trimester. You may have stretchy leggings and tops that will work nicely.
The next step is to acquire some basic items that can be mixed, matched, dressed up and dressed down. This might include a few pairs of maternity jeans and slacks. Today's maternity pants come in trendy styles like boot cut and flare leg. A few pairs of maternity jeans and a few pairs of slacks in neutrals like black and khaki will work nicely. Next you will need tops to go with your pants. There are all kinds of tops available from basic T-shirts to dressy wrap style tops and romantic empire waist baby doll tops. You might also want to pick up a few dresses, especially if your pregnancy is during the summer or you live in a warm climate.
There is nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman in a flowing sundress. These dresses come in various lengths and styles and many of them show off a favorite feature of many women -- the growing bustline. If you keep up with celebrity fashion you've probably seen photos of the stunning Angelina Jolie in flowing dresses that are quite low cut. This is a great look for women who aren't afraid to show some cleavage. Just make sure you wear a supportive bra to prevent sagging. Once you've got your basic maternity wardrobe established you will want to shop for some accessories.
Hip maternity clothes can be made even more fashionable with the right accessories. Chandelier style earrings are popular these days and can add a sexy look to any outfit. Long necklaces are in style these days also. You might also want to pick up a few choker style necklaces that nestle above your cleavage when wearing low cut styles. Bangle bracelets are hot these days and can be stacked together. Make a statement with a single cocktail ring in a big, bold style. You might also want to pick up a few pairs of trendy shoes to go with your outfits. Just make sure you go for comfortable footwear and stay away from high heels.
